PHOTOGRAPHY & ILLUSTRATIONS

Please refer to the OHM Style Guide before submitting your work.

Visual artists may submit a maximum of five images, 300 dpi or higher, per issue. Simultaneous submissions to more than one publication are acceptable. But it is the responsibility of the artist to notify October Hill Magazine immediately if their work is accepted for publication elsewhere.

In addition, please provide an autobiographical thumbnail sketch of 50 words or less, describing your works, background and/or interests.

To submit, click on the submit button to fill out the submission form. We no longer accept submissions via email. We also do not accept submissions sent by regular or express mail.

SOME IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ALL ARTISTS

October Hill Magazine will not publish any material of a pornographic, erotic or abusive nature; gratuitous profanity; or gratuitous descriptions of violence or abusive remarks toward women, members of any religious or ethnic group, people of any sexual orientation, or animals. Any material violating these guidelines will automatically be rejected for publication.

We seek to publish new and imaginative work. All authors who submit their work for consideration represent to us that they are the sole original authors of that work; that the work has never appeared in another publication, either in print or online (including blogs); and that they shall hold October Hill Magazine blameless for any violation of copyright law unknown to the editors of the magazine at the time of publication. Authors further agree to grant October Hill Magazine the right to reprint all work accepted for publication in any future anthology or collection of work for a period of up to one (1) year. After such period, the exclusive copyright reverts to the author.

October Hill Magazine does not compensate writers or illustrators accepted for publication. However, artists are encouraged to submit their work for consideration when we have another Contest Issue, in which those selected for awards will receive monetary prizes and special recognition.
