All contest entries must be completed accurately and submitted using the October Hill's 2018 Literary Contest electronic form below.


Late entries will not be accepted.


Submissions that are incomplete or do not follow the guidelines will be disqualified. For details regarding the guidelines and publication rights click here.


Multiple entries per contestants are allowed. Each submission requires a $25 entry fee. Fee applies to one (1) short story or three (3) poems. All entry fees are non-refundable.

- For contestants submitting multiple entries:

- Contestants can only win once per category (short story or poem).

- Files must only contain what the entry fee covers (i.e. - one short story per file or three poems in a file).

Files containing more documents than what was paid will be rejected.


All major credit cards accepted. No cash, checks, money orders, etc.


Accepted file formats: Word, PDF, Text. Follow document formatting guidelines specified here.


Judges for the short story and poetry categories will be announced at a later date.

- First place = $1,000

- Second place = $500
